PRIVACY POLICY THE MAURICE WOHL CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

The Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation (MWCF) (Charity no. 244519) may collect and process personal data about you in your capacity as a trustee, officer, contractor or employee of a charity that has applied to us for a grant.

MWCF is a “controller”. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal data. We are required under data protection legislation to notify you of the information contained in this privacy notice.

This privacy notice does not form part of any contract with you. We may update this notice at any time and will make an updated copy of this notice available as soon as reasonably practical.

What information do we collect about you and why?

The following categories of personal data about you may be collected, stored and used: your name, email address and telephone number, and any personal data you provide to us that is relevant and necessary for us to collect and process in the course of operating. We may collect personal data about you (as set out above) from your employer and other relevant organisations in the ordinary course of carrying out our business.

You may change or request deletion of your personal data at any time in writing, subject to any overriding legal obligation or valid reason that we may have for its retention. We do not, and never would, profile your personal data; nor would we ever sell your personal data to a third party.

Lawful bases for processing personal data

MWCF will only use your personal data when the law allows it do so. MWCF has a legitimate interest in processing the above personal data because it is relevant to our operations as grant making foundations. We may use it for internal management purposes, to contact you about any grant application that has been made, and to inform you of events led by the Wohl Legacy that we believe may be of interest to you. We will also use it to comply with applicable laws, regulations and court orders, and to obtain advice from our professional advisors.

Who has access to your personal data?

Your personal data will be shared internally with employees and trustees of MWCF. We may also share your personal data with consultants of MWCF located in the UK and in Israel. Transfers of your personal data to Israel will be carried out on the basis of the adequacy of regulation granted to Israel by the UK Government. This means that Israel is deemed to provide an adequate level of protection to your personal data.

On occasion, we may also need to share your personal data with third parties, including but not limited to our professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants or to otherwise comply with the law.

Security of personal data

Appropriate security measures have been put in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, access to your personal data is limited to those within MWCF and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data upon our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
