Wohl Legacy COVID-19 Emergency Response
The spread of COVID-19 has dramatically affected the whole world. Its impact, and the subsequent significant financial ramifications, means the charity sector globally faces a range of unprecedented challenges in maintaining its provision of ongoing vital, front-line, health and care services.
The Wohl Legacy is a signatory on the London Funders’ We stand with the Sector statement as well as Israel’s Forum of Philanthropic Foundations letter. Both of which aim to provide a cross-funder approach to supporting the sector during this emergency.
In addition, we are working with each of our grantees to understand their needs at this time and maintain flexibility in our approach.
Finally, in the UK we responded to a number of emergency funds, including:
The Jewish Homes Emergency Appeal – to ensure the community’s most vulnerable members can receive the additional care they urgently need; and
The Emergency Community Fund – established to support those across the community whose earnings have been directly affected by COVID-19, specifically those who are ineligible for Government support or who face delays accessing it.
